In Which Two Sisters Depict the Character of Insects

My sister and I are weird. We were pretty normal little kids— we played with stuffed animals and pretended stories about children running away from the orphanage. But as we got older, we got crazier. She began talking in nonsensical speech pattern, and I began understanding. Mary’s toes developed a mind of their own. I started getting a toddler-like smile and emitting a high-pitched wail from the back of my throat every time I greeted her. Sometimes we look at each other, and I can tell we’re both thinking it: “Uhm, yeah. We’re totally grown-ups.”

These are two photos from Seattle, in which Mary depicts the character of the Honeybee, and I portray the essence of the Bumblebee.

Come to think of it, the craziness kind of started when we began traveling.
