Always opportunities to compromise. As much as I would want the area to myself, I would welcome any PCT hiker who had totally committed to thru-hiking a camp space period. As long as they respected my space, it would be all good. I, too, live in a no-window, four-walled office prison 40+ hours for 40+ years. But I would graciously welcome a thru-hiker, esp. if they were as adorable as Tabasco and Leftovers!Maryellenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11433358160320748083noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1212444187970080061.post-74953860093826706202015-08-24T09:36:07.405-07:002015-08-24T09:36:07.405-07:00We met a lot of nice southern Oregonians, but some...We met a lot of nice southern Oregonians, but some of them were indeed rather odd...Lisa Straderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13356754383484813597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1212444187970080061.post-82853825211152958562015-08-24T09:35:40.309-07:002015-08-24T09:35:40.309-07:00Mary, I definitely understand wanting to be alone ...Mary, I definitely understand wanting to be alone when you're out in the wilderness! If Zach and I had anywhere else to camp, we certainly would have. I just think it was unreasonable for them to act like they owned this huge camping area. When you're hiking on a nice weekend in one of the most popular free camping destinations in Oregon, you shouldn't be surprised if you have to share your space. :)Lisa Straderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13356754383484813597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1212444187970080061.post-3804579036022912042015-08-21T06:53:12.704-07:002015-08-21T06:53:12.704-07:00Idk, I think it comes down to this. Weekend hikers are looking for different things than thru hikers. That being said, I have cheerfully shared my site with other hikers if needed. I'm a section hiker and I just try to think, thank goodness these people are out there, instead of on the couchMaryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11166776565191771729noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1212444187970080061.post-59640245786793309572015-08-21T06:21:38.885-07:002015-08-21T06:21:38.885-07:00Southern Oregonian peeps are oddballsSouthern Oregonian peeps are oddballsAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10531878501945106527noreply@blogger.com
